Hi Lauren,
I know of no rules that are enforced and I’ve seen many beach goers accompanied by there dogs. That said do not expect to bring your dog into stores, restaurants etc most locals will frown on that and it largely depends on the owner and they type crowd that frequent the place…. some places might be cool with it others won’t so continue to ask first as you did here to avoid surprises.

Hi Nancy,
Excellent time to visit. Carnival is the biggest festival on the island. Many visitors from other Caribbean islands and north America come to Grenada for carnival, and the pace of the place increases a notch. Several events to choose from to attend, it really depends on how much you and your family want to participate. Am sure your hotel will have events planned round the festivities. As for the weather all I can say is that its the middle of the rainy season, so expect some rain, exactly how much and when that’s unpredictable.
It should be a fun trip. Plan to embrace the local culture and you will enjoy it. Always make safety a priority in everything you do.

Hi Neville,

I stumbled upon your website and em enjoying reading the comments. My family is traveling to Grenada tis summer…arriving july 29th. We’ve never been to the carribean at all and Grenada sounded like the best fit for us. Our kids are 15, 17, 19 and 21. I am hoping there is enough nightlife for the older two and I am a but worried about too much rain. You mentioned in one of your posts that august is a great time to go there and I was so glad to hear that! We will be there for the tail end of Carnival (leaving Aug.6th). Any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated. We are staying at Spice Island Resort.

Hi My name is Len Bourne I live in New Zealand .
My grandfather Joseph Hugh Bell was born in Brandonhall La digue St Andrews Grenadand emigrated to New Zealand and and his father Thomas William Bell was a`police magistrate in Grenada and Carriocou and Thomas William is buried Dumphries Estate Carriocou ….We have had three trips to Grenada to stay in the old home with Westindian cousins and friends 1996 1998 7 of us and my wife and I In 2005 …We have seen all of Grenada and most of Carriacou one of our friends was called Whitie as `he was from England and had white legs his friend was my cousin Richard Lyder now deceased also Joe Bell is not with us two fine men …Ronald Bell Harry Ogilvie and others are cousins and we had a` special friend Joe Bell of Wobern .Nice to see a local return to Grenada the land we love so well keep up the good work of promoting Grenada

Good work. Can’t get enough of the homeland. I try to visit at least once a year but after having lived abroad so (too) long I’m seriously thinking of moving back.

It’s good to see a website that promotes such a beautiful place. I just came back a couple of weeks ago – we spent a couple of weeks there and attended my girlfriend’s daughter’s wedding on Morne Rouge beach. Sunset, and that ever present beach dog…lol

I’ll send some pics if you like, and we can’t wait to go back. My girl is Grenadian by descent – daddy. Can’t tell you how much we miss that place….

I’m glad this site has inspired you a bit to take another look at Grenada. It’s really an awesome island as you will see. December is a great time to visit, as is August. Pink Gin beach you will enjoy… It’s the beach at La Source Resort. I’m sure by the time December rolls around you will know so much more about Grenada… Keep in touch.

I came across your site while I was doing some research about Grenada. Eventhough I was born there I have to attest that I don’t know much about the place. Your site is pretty interesting. I never knew there were so many place to go and things to do. I was planning on going out there sometime in August but I canceled b/c I don’t know anywhere and hardly anyone. Now I plan on going in December and hopefully I can check those wonderful beaches. I’m really looking forward towards going to Pink Gin Beach. I’ve never heard of it before.
