The Lodge Hotel – A Vegan Paradise in Grenada

The Lodge is a vegan’s piece of heaven on earth. The owners take pride in being a member of It’s A Green Green World and in being the only 100% vegan lodging in all of the Caribbean.

So what can one expect from a vegan establishment? Vegan cuisine? Vegan housekeeping? Yes and yes, but there’s still so much more.

The Lodge gives off a vibe of being cut off from the “normal world”. Well, when you’re standing on 3-acre property on a hill more than 600 feet above sea level, it’s easy to get a feeling of being remote, but again, there’s still so much more.

The hosts at the guesthouse facilitate activities that inspire and move the guests to be in touch with nature, such as hiking tours, island tours, and sharing their bits of wisdom on how to shift to the vegan movement.

It also employs eco-friendly measures such as using solar energy, filtering rain water, and planting a tree for every guest that comes to the guesthouse.

The Lodge grows fruits and plants which they use in their food preparation although they admit they still are not self-sufficient, they sensibly source their produce from a couple of independent organic farmers.

And while most believe that the beach is the most gorgeous spot to watch the sunset, people must also try viewing it from hundreds of feet above sea level, which is nothing short of breathtaking.

Would non-vegan guests feel out of place at The Lodge? Not at all as the place is non-imposing and all the delicious meals would make anyone forget about their preference for meat.

Rooms

The Lodge offers two bedrooms that can accommodate two guests each. There is the Dragon Room, which they call their honeymoon suite, and the Peacock Room. Both come with a huge four-poster bed that is netted not only to make it more romantic, but to actually ward off the mosquitoes.

Each also has an en-suite bathroom, a spacious balcony (with the Dragon Room balcony facing west, giving views of sunsets and the Caribbean Sea, while the Peacock Room faces south, with views of sunrises, sunsets, the Caribbean and Atlantic Seas.

Do not expect a TV, DVD, radio, or air-conditioning on the premises as The Lodge prefers to have things the natural way.
